The times when hours-long lighting setups consumed the majority of our shooting time are over. Additionally, there was the logistics: two to four flash heads, generators, various light shapers. All this equipment had to be set up on location, followed by a series of test shots to assess the effect of the different flash heads and used light shapers in the room and then adjust them accordingly.
As a photographer who often finds himself in various operational scenarios, it is important for me to work flexibly and efficiently. Therefore, today I would like to share my experiences with two remarkable light sources: the GODOX VL200 LED Flicker-free continuous light in combination with the GODOX CS-85D "Lantern" Softbox, as well as the versatile GODOX TL60 tube light.

Especially in hotel and gastronomy shootings – as seen here in the example images – it is important to integrate the existing light, that is, the on-site light design, into the shots. The designer lamp next to the bed, for example, not only looks elegant but is also matched in color temperature characteristics to the furniture and harmonized with the overall effect of the room's furnishings. This should not be changed, of course, but rather emphasized in the shots. Here, it is easy to set the desired color temperature on the TL60 tube light to create a light effect that matches the main light. The additional light used for photography should only gently illuminate too dark areas in the room with natural transitions or set deliberate accents. On the other hand, the CS-85D "Lantern" Softbox has established itself as my universal weapon for soft light. With its Bowens mount, it offers a variety of lighting design possibilities and ensures even and soft illumination. Especially in hotel and gastronomy shootings, where the goal is to integrate the existing light, the CS-85D is indispensable.
