Review of the Molus X60 Combo
In this review, I would like to share my impressions of the Zhiyun Molus X60 COB light and show why it is an exciting tool for creatives who value high-quality results with maximum mobility. Of course, there are a few points for improvement. But one thing I can say in advance: working with the X60 is really fun!

Why the Zhiyun Molus X60 Combo?
First, the size: this thing is super compact and portable. It is almost outrageous how much power Zhiyun has crammed into this tiny housing. The maximum output is 60W! Especially when I'm travelling, I don't want to lug around a ton of equipment, I want something that is light but versatile. That's exactly where the Molus X60 scores a lot of points. Just pack and go - and still enough power for really good lighting situations. The combo set includes a Molus X60 lamp, a battery grip, a Bowens adapter, a DC adapter with cable, a small light shaper and a small diffuser.
The Molus X60 is a COB Fill light. This is a fill light that uses Chip-On-Board (COB) LED technology, where multiple LED chips are placed close together on a single module. This results in a powerful, even light output that is ideal for filling shadows and softening contrasts in photography and video productions.

Flexibility through Bowens adapter
Then the Bowens adapter - For me, this is an absolutely essential extension for the Molus X60. Anyone who has ever worked with Bowens light modifiers knows how ingenious this system is. Whether softboxes, beauty dishes or other light modifiers, this adapter gives you maximum flexibility. That's a huge plus, especially if you like to experiment like me. It feels like I have a mini studio in my bag. Moreover, the Bowens adapter also has an integrated lighting tripod holder, which makes it even easier to set up.

The battery: light and shade
Of course, every device has something that is not perfect. In the case of the Molus X60, I deem that to be the included battery grip. Let's just say it didn't set any records with its 2600 mAh. But here comes the best part: the lamp can be charged and used directly with a powerbank! This is not only practical, but also pretty ingenious if you are on the road for long periods of time and don't feel like constantly organising spare batteries. Just plug in the powerbank and carry on. It is also shaped like a grip so you can easily handle the lamp. Besides the battery, the X60 also supports fast charging via PD protocol and power via DC adapter, allowing full power output while charging.
Run time battery grip: CCT at 100% : 50 minutes, CCT at 67%: 1h 11minutes, CCT at 33%: 2h 10minutes.

The Zhiyun Molus X60 in use
Setting and adjusting the light is child's play, and the light itself can be infinitely adjusted in terms of both light intensity and colour temperature. This can be done via the buttons on the back, but also via Bluetooth with the ZY Vega App. It is bright enough to create highlights even outdoors at dusk, but can also be gently adjusted if you want to create a subtle ambience. I mainly use it in the studio, for small video sets, where it works perfectly in combination with the right light shaper. For me as a photographer, it's always exciting to see how much difference the right light can make - and the Molus X60 certainly doesn't disappoint.

Adjusting the lamp with the app
One of the smartest features of the Molus X60 is control via the ZY Vega app. It allows you to control brightness, colour temperature (2700k - 6500K) and even effects directly from your smartphone. This is especially practical if you have mounted the lamp in hard-to-reach places or want to make quick adjustments during a shoot without having to put the camera down. The connection is stable and operation is intuitive - a real plus when it comes to convenience and efficiency.

Conclusion: Small, flexible, fun
The Zhiyun Molus X60 is a real all-round travel talent. Sure, the battery could be stronger, but the power bank function more than makes up for that. Its portability, Bowens adapter and smart app controls are the main game changers for me. If you're looking for a lightweight, flexible and powerful lamp that you can take anywhere, you've come to the right place.
So grab your Molus X60, screw your favourite light shaper onto it and let your creativity run wild. Whether you're in the woods, in the studio or travelling - this little thing has it all. Have fun trying it out!
